About the festival
Platanistasa dresses up for its annual celebration, inviting us to a wonderful summer weekend dedicated to one of its most characteristic products. The Hazelnut Festival returns on the weekend of August 1st and 2nd, 2026, also marking the start of the community's cultural events for the year.
The Association of Expatriates and the Community Council of Platanistasa invite villagers, expatriates, and visitors to discover the place, its traditions, and its people. The program includes music, dance, local flavors, and guided tours of the village's important monuments and the unique hazelnut forest of the area.
On Saturday evening, the main square will fill with music and cheer, with Konstantinos and his band taking over the entertainment from 8:30 PM. Food and drink will complement the festive atmosphere, in an evening that highlights Platanistasa's tradition and warm hospitality.
Beyond the festive program, this two-day event is also an excellent opportunity for an excursion to one of the most beautiful villages in Pitsilia, with its stone-built streets, cool air, and lush green landscape creating the ideal setting for a summer mountain escape.
