About the festival
One of the region's most beloved summer events returns this year, inviting both young and old to Akaki Square. The Watermelon Dance, now an established institution, promises an evening full of music, flavors, and summer cheer.
The star of the night will, of course, be the famous Akaki watermelon, which visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy in various forms, along with refreshing watermelon sweet preserve and iced cocktails, in a celebration dedicated to the favorite summer fruit.
Vasiliki Hadjiadamou will lead the musical part of the event, presenting a traditional program to accompany the festivities. An after-party will follow the live music, keeping the fun going until late.
The event is organized by the "Ellinismos" Gymnastic Club of Akaki, with the support of the Akaki Community Council and under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior.
With abundant watermelon, traditional music, dancing, and a summer atmosphere, the Watermelon Dance is expected to be one of this summer's most unique celebrations, attracting visitors from all over Cyprus.
